Our Favourite Vegan Munchies!

Today is April 20th making it the 4th month and the 20th day of the year…you guessed it, 420!  This may mean something for some of you or nothing at all, but if it does and you’re celebrating 420 along with countless other loadies this afternoon, you’re gonna need some munchies!  Here are our favourite all-time vegan munchies:

Chips: We have a selection of different chip/condiments combos to share…

Nachos – We love a good plate of nachos and were worried that when we became vegan that this love affair would be over, but then we found Daiya. Load up with all your favourite toppings or head to Bandidas for theirs.

Chips and Salsa  – a variation of the above, but easier to prepare and stuff into your mouth in a pinch.

Avocado oil potato chips – These are Bridget’s personal favourite to satisfy her salty tooth.  Available at Whole Foods and Capers.

Old Crackers dipped in stale Tofutti: Jessica’s been known to keep several near gone tofutti containers in her fridge which pairs nicely with some stale crackers from her cupboard.

Toast: A couple pieces of toast smeared with Earth Balance, olive oil and s&p, nut butter, mashed avocado, whatever really…if it’s spreadable, it’s fair game.

Daiya Grilled Cheese: Even better than just toast is toast filled with ooey, gooey Daiya.

Chocolate Chips: Got leftover chocolate chips from baking?  Or a full bag waiting to be used?  Perfect!  Eat ’em know, you can always but more.

And know a word of advice from our teen idol and fellow vegan, Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz in Clueless, the film that shaped our lives…

Cher: Are you talking about drugs?

Tai: Yeah.

Cher: Tai, how old are you?

Tai: I’ll be 16 in May.

Cher: My birthday is in April and as someone older, can I please give you some advice? It is one thing to spark up a doobie and get laced at parties, but it is quite another to be fried all day.

Dionne: Do you see the distinction?
