Power Green Smoothie

This lovely smoothie is packed full of essential vitamins and nutrients for vegans, and for omnivores.  It tastes so dreamy-creamy delicious – perfect for after a workout!

1 banana (1 gram of protein)

1 pear (1 gram of protein)

1 cup almond milk (1 gram of protein plus tons of vitamins B12 & D, and Calcium)

3 tablespoons raw hemp hearts (10 grams of protein)

1 teaspoon chlorophyll (replenishes red blood cells and boosts energy)

1 tablespoon nutravege (vegetarian source of omega-3 and DHA)

1 tablespoon maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (LOVE this in smoothies!)

A few ice cubes

Puree the above ingredients in a blender until smooth.  I added the maple syrup to mask the flavour of the nutravege (which I’m not crazy about), but it could be omitted if you’re watching your calorie intake.
