Meet-Up Dinner at Tang’s Bistro ( 2807 West Broadway)

This is a repeat performance at Tang’s by popular request. Tang’s Bistro is located in the old Tang’s Noodle House, an institution in Kitsilano for a decade or two at Broadway and McDonald. The new Tang’s Bistro is completely different with two large signs on the windows about vegan food, a completely vegan menu (in addition to their regular meat menu) and the use of separate woks and cooking implements for their vegan dishes. The food is Chinese fusion. Set menu at $25, which includes (to name a few!) tofu corn soup, papaya salad, assorted veggies with peanuts, Victoria wraps and much more.) Trout Lake Farmers’ Market: Opening Day of the season!

Come to the very first Trout Lake market of the season!  Find vendors you haven’t seen all winter like: Arila Apiary, G & K Garden, Gloucester Green Nursery, South Grove Nursery, and Hannah Brook Farm, to name a few… The bell rings at 9am in the North Parking Lot of John Hendry Park. Remember to bring your own bags & walk, bike or take transit if possible! (3360 Victoria Drive. Note- the market then continues every Saturday throughout May!)

Talk Healthy for All Ideas Lab (1PM to 3:30PM)

The City of Vancouver is developing a Healthy City Strategy as the third component of their overall plan for sustainability. The Healthy City Strategy will be long-term and comprehensive with an understanding that conditions in which we are born, grow up, play, learn, love, work, and age determine our health and well-being at different stages throughout our lives. These conditions are interconnected and interdependent, and achieving a healthy city for all will require significant collaboration and community involvement. “Business as usual” is not an option.

Participants at the Healthy City for All Ideas Labs will work together to develop innovative ideas to help achieve the Healthy City for All 2025 targets and to build a city where everyone is thriving, not just surviving. Join Janice Skoyreko, founder of the Raw Foundation Culinary Institute, as she teaches you how to get healthier in five minutes a date. $10 per participant, and sign up as Customer Service to reserve your spot!
