World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated on 1 November, by vegans around the world. The Day was established in 1994 by Louise Wallis, then President & Chair of The Vegan Society, to commemorate the Society’s 50th anniversary.  2013 also marks the 69th anniversary of the term ‘vegan’.

In support of one of my favourite non-profits- HugABull! HugABull is a registered non-profit organization and a community of pit bull owners, advocates and enthusiasts. Their mission is to rescue dogs, provide public education, and build a community of responsible pit bull owners and supporters. The pub night will be comprised of of trivia games, prizes, raffles, a 50/50 draw, and of course- beer!

An evening of dinner, dancing, and decadence at the BC SPCA Richmond’s A Fetching Affair… a semi-formal soiree being held at the Delta Vancouver Airport Hotel.The evening promises to be one to remember with a delicious buffet dinner, impressive silent auction, outstanding live auction, live music by Pretty Good Band. Liberty presents its annual Fall Into The Market tasting event. . This Liberty-sponsored event is in support of the BC SPCA, to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. All proceeds from both ticket sales and draw prizes directly support the BC SPCA.The evening will feature coastal wines along with tasty samplings from Granville Island food purveyors. It’s the perfect autumn event! Join us on Wednesday, November 6th, from 7:30 – 9:30pm at the Net Loft on Granville Island. Tickets available at all Liberty Wine locations.

Join us for the annual Friends of the BC SPCA Christmas sale on Saturday November 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veteran’s Club, 3917 Main Street, Vancouver.  There will be handmade items, collectibles, baking, preserves, gifts, Christmas items, a draw of really great gift baskets and a 50/50 draw.
