Top Five Picks from Veg Expo 2015

The second annual Veg Expo held on May 31st at Canada Place was even more incredible than last year! The food samples were off-the-hook, the demos and talks were well-rounded and informative, and the turn-out of veg-curious folks looking to learn about plant-based living was more than we could’ve hoped. We enjoyed SO many things at Veg Expo, but there were a few that stood out too much not to mention.

Here are our TOP FIVE PICKS from Veg Expo 2015.

#1: Miyoko’s Kitchen – Artisan Vegan Cultured Nut Products.

The French Style Winter Truffle and Mt.Vesuvius Black Ash are out of this world! Miyoko’s are not sold in many stores in Canada, but can be found at Antony & Sons in Surrey and online soon at vegansupply.ca

#2: Organika Vege-Pro – A vegetarian protein blend comprised of brown rice, hemp and including 8 different mushrooms.

It was delicious, non-gritty, has 19 grams of protein per serving,  and we love the addition of therapeutic mushrooms in the mix!

#3: Wise Bites – Baked goods free of gluten, dairy, peanuts, eggs, soy and tree nuts.

Coconut Banana Date Loaf anyone? Bonus: They’re local too, based of Richmond, BC.

#4: Karina Inkster’s Vegan Vitality – Your Complete Guide to an Active, Healthy, Plant-Based Lifestyle.

Unfortunately, our friend Karina couldn’t be on site that day because she’s way too busy helping people get fit! We did have her book available for sale though, and it was huge hit!

#5: Liberation BC – Supporting a world in which humans recognize and respect that all animals have a fundamental right to life, liberty and the freedom from human-caused exploitation and harm.

We always have major admiration for the people on the front lines of animal cruelty. This group has achieved great things and continues to fight for the animals everyday.
