Who We Are

Bridget Burns

Bridget Burns is the founding member of The Vegan Project, and the passionate recipe designer behind many of the VP’s signature dishes. She loves a good challenge, like veganizing a family pie crust recipe and inventing the perfect food: the lasagna sandwich. Some lesser-known facts about Bridget: she’s an only child with a crippling fear of rats and she can’t drive (way harsh), but regardless, her friends keep her around if only for her ability to fix great drinks and ensure the group survives on more than Sam’s juice pulp nut loaves. While many envy her amazing abilities in the kitchen and behind the bar, Bridget confesses that she wishes she had Zoe’s eyelashes. If she could have three wishes (aside from ending all animal suffering of course) they would be: to meet vegan hero Alicia Silverstone and for people to stop pronouncing it ‘vay-gan’.

Zoe Peled

Zoe
Zoe Peled made the ethical decision to become vegetarian at a very young age and went completely plant-based in 2010. Ironically enough, her favourite foods as a child were, however, anything but vegan. In fact, Zoe’s go-to faves were plain hamburger patties and McDonalds cheeseburgers with a side of chicken McNuggets (ew.) A longtime supporter of The Vegan Project, Zoe joined the team in 2013 bringing with her a slew of media contacts and vast promotions/marketing experience obtained through her full-time promotions gig at Fortune Sound Club. As the Events & Public Relations Manager for The Vegan Project, Zoe has taken the blog’s status to new heights via many radio and TV appearances, fun local events and unique fundraiser/sponsorship opportunities. Zoe is also The VP’s official cheerleader, always bringing exciting, new ideas to the team. Zoe greatly admires everyone involved in The Vegan Project and their commitment to animal welfare and veganism as a whole.

Collin McDougall

Collin
Poor Collin had no idea what he was in for when he joined The Vegan Project team in 2013. The lone male of the group, Collin has established himself as the quiet, introverted one who’s always holding out on the many skills he has hidden up his organic cotton sleeves and is without a doubt, the missing piece of The VP puzzle. And since being employed as “Art Director,” Collin continues to deliver top-notch digital and print designs for the brand, showing the world we’re not just pretty, plant-fed faces. The fact that he also works full time at vegan nutrition powerhouse Vega certainly doesn’t hurt either, bringing all kinds of relevant experience in visual marketing and advertising. Fun fact: Collin is quite the little “Suzie Homemaker” and makes a “Bailey’s” Irish cream to die for! When he isn’t at home milking his nuts (hardcore homemade almond milk advocate) Collin can be found outdoors either cycling around town, running the seawall or hiking local trails.
